Since the launch of Inspiring the Future in July 2012, more than 7,500 teachers at state schools and colleges across the United Kingdom have registered on the system. Together they’ve sent nearly 70,000 invitations to Inspiring the Future volunteers and thousands of employee volunteers have gone into schools to talk about their jobs and careers and help young people make decisions about their futures.
Inspiring the Future aims to ensure that young people from all backgrounds are able to meet and hear from successful people who do a wide range of jobs, to help them understand the range of options open to them and the different routes they can take to get there. To help us further develop and expand Inspiring the Future, we want to understand more about the experiences of employer engagement activities that young people have had to date.
For the next six weeks we’re running a short survey for 11-19 year olds and we’re asking teachers and careers professionals to help distribute the survey to students. We will publish results in full in March 2015 – watch this space.
