Bank of America Merrill Lynch Women’s Networks have been awarded the Women in Banking and Finance’s Team Diversity Award 2016.
The award commended the work of the Networks to support diversity and inclusion and to promote the recruitment and development of women, both internally and externally.
As part of the winning submission, the award noted in particular the Networks’ engagement with Inspiring the Future and Inspiring Women:
“Externally, they play an active role in inspiring future generations, and ensuring that banking is seen as an inclusive industry open to everyone – regardless of gender. […] Our members’ volunteer efforts with Inspiring the Future and Inspiring Women are helping to pave the way for the next generation of female leaders.”
Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Women’s Networks comprise: LEAD, the umbrella women’s network for Europe, the Middle East and Africa; Global Banking and Markets Women’s Leadership Council (GBAM WLC); and Women in Technology and Operations (WiT&O).
Through Inspiring Women, members across the networks pledge an hour a year to provide career insights to young women and girls from state schools and colleges across the UK, volunteering their time to visit local schools and host Inspiring Women events at Bank of America Merrill Lynch offices.
Bank of America Merrill Lynch is lead corporate supporter of Inspiring Women and its parent campaign Inspiring the Future. In May, Jennifer Taylor, COO, EMEA at Bank of America Merrill Lynch received an Inspiring Women Ambassador Award in recognition of her commitment to the campaign, at a ceremony hosted by the London Stock Exchange.
