Stuart has 20 years’ experience in the fund management industry and for the past nine years has been a partner at AKO Capital, a leading European investment firm and certified B Corporation. He grew up in Turkey and the UK and studied maths, statistics and economics at the University of Warwick. His professional career has encompassed time in both Asia and the UK and has provided exposure to a wide range of industries, including technology, telecoms, industrial products and consumer services. At AKO Capital, he has been a strong supporter of mentoring schemes, as well as work experience programmes involving charities such as 10,000 Interns Foundation, GAIN and Teach First.
Stuart’s involvement with Education and Employers, began in 2018 when he advocated for support for the charity from the AKO Foundation. Growing up in rural East Anglia, he was aware of the difficulty that children have in understanding the career options available to them and how this is connected to what they are learning at school. And as an investor in British companies, he also sees first-hand the challenge that companies face raising awareness of their ability to offer exciting career opportunities for young people.
